One of those days . . .

Oh, this has been one of those days . . .

The kind where you wish you could go back to bed and start over

The kind where you wish you could move to Alaska and leave everything behind

The kind where you question wether or not you really want to have more kids

In the midst of it all I have had a revelation! In church we sing some great worship songs, songs about love, forgiveness, being saved, miracles, a God that knows our name.
Today, I realized that there is a large untapped worship song market out there. Where are the songs that say things like,

"Saviour, he can calm a crying baby
My God is mighty to calm
Forever, to calm a crying baby
He is mighty to calm, mighty to calm"

Or how about

"I need Thee, oh I need Thee
While my baby teethes, I need Thee
Oh bless me now my Saviour, I'm going crazy"

And of course,

"Blessed be Your Name
When the diaper pail is plentiful
Where streams of spit up flow
Blessed be Your Name"

I was taught to cast your cares upon the Lora, to lean of Him for all I need.
And right now, the above songs describe where I am in life.

One last song, for the road
(no liberties taken with this one)

And I'll praise You in this storm
and I will lift my hands
for You are who You are
no matter where I am
and every tear I've cried
You hold in your hand
You never left my side
and though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm

  1. I absolutely loved the "newly revised" versions of those songs. So funny. Even though my kids are 15 and 21, I still remember very well those days when those songs would have been the soundtrack of my life!

    Blessings,
